Cookie Policy

Our approach
When you first visit ethanol.co.zw we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing loads until you choose. If you decline — or ignore the banner — no analytics cookies are set and no analytics scripts run. You can change your mind at any time using in the footer.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies (like pixels and browser storage) work in comparable ways. We use the word “cookies” to cover all of them here.
Strictly necessary
We do not set any cookies that require consent in order for the site to work. Your cookie choice itself is saved in your browser’s local storage (a key called ethanol-consent) so we don’t ask you again on every page. It stays on your device, is not sent to us, and you can clear it through your browser.
Analytics — only if you accept
If you accept, the following are set:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Tell visitors and sessions apart to measure site usage | Up to 2 years |
_gid | Google Analytics | Tell visitors apart | 24 hours |
_fbp | Meta Pixel | Measure and attribute visits from Meta ads | About 3 months |
fr | Meta | Ad delivery and measurement | About 3 months |
Google and Meta act as our providers for this. Exact cookie names and lifetimes are set by them and can change; see Google and Meta for details.
Emails from our guide series
This is not a website cookie, but for transparency: if you sign up for one of our email guides, those emails contain a small tracking pixel and links that pass through our server, so we can see whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked and which PDF you downloaded. This only applies to people who opted in, every email has an unsubscribe link, and image blocking in your mail app will prevent the open pixel from working. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
Managing your choices
- Use in the site footer to accept or decline again.
- Delete cookies and site data through your browser settings.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Changes
We may update this policy as the tools we use change. The date at the top shows the last revision.
